Job Description:

The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Experience/Education Requirements:

Level 0:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited Computer Science or related discipline is required
Four (4) years of software experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
One (1) year experience with Windows OS, required
One (1) year experience with SQL, required
One (1) year experience with UNIX/LINUX, required
One (1) year experience with JAVA or C++, required
One (1) year experience with HTML, required
One (1) year experience with JAVASCRIPT, required
Desired: Experience with Groovy on Grails, DoJo, CSS, JSP, AJAZ, Spring framework, JEE technologies, developing Web Services (SOAP and REST), XML tools, IIS, CASPORT, PKI, IBM Business Process Manager, IBM ILOG CPLEX, IBM Rational Focal Point, and IBM Rational Insight
Level I:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited Computer Science or related discipline is required
Seven (7) or more years' of experience in software development is required
An additional four (4) years of software experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
Experience working with the customer or stakeholder to define, document, and implement system requirements
Ability to create and execute test cases for peer code testing
Two (2) years experience with Windows OS, required
Two (2) years experience with SQL, required
Two (2) years experience with UNIX/LINUX, required
Two (2) years experience with JAVA or C++, required
Two (2) years experience with HTML, required
Two (2) years experience with JAVASCRIPT, required
Six (6) months experience with Groovy on Grails or similar technology, required
Six (6) months experience with DoJo services or similar technology, required
Six (6) months experience developing Web Services (SOAP and REST), required
